Our management team is made up of the school director and an advisory board. The school director manages the affairs of The Pier School with the vast wealth of insights provided by the advisory board on educational management, excellent educational service delivery, technologically enhanced education delivery, business improvement, legal perspectives, good governance, growth, and sustainability.
Tosin Omobolaji
Tosin is our school director. She manages and oversees the day-to-day running of all academic and administrative activities, and ensures that we achieve our learning goal for every child. She is passionate about giving children the best possible start in education. She is a life skill and attitude coach with a rich blend of experience in teaching reading, creative writing, phonics and diction, STEAM education, curriculum design, teacher training and educational leadership. Her experience spans teaching in churches for 17 years, in schools for 11 years, and serving as a school director for 7 years. She has worked and observed in Bournemouth Montessori Nursery, Oval Montessori Nursery, London, MEfA Montessori School, London, The Sheiling School, Ringwood, Libra House Montessori School, Ikoyi and Kradle Academy, Lekki. She has also worked with Guaranty Trust Bank as credit control and loan-monitoring officer and with Telnet Nigeria Limited as a business analyst. Her educational qualifications include a Montessori Teaching Diploma (0-3 years) from North American Montessori Centre, Canada, Montessori Education Diploma (0-6 years) from Bournemouth Montessori Centre, Dorset, Post Graduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs from Montessori Education for Autism (MEfA) Institute, London and an MA in Education (TESOL) from the University of Derby, Derbyshire. She is a graduate of Economics from Babcock University, an MBA from Lagos Business School (Pan Atlantic University), and a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Our advisory board is a team of highly skilled professionals who are experts in their respective fields, and who individually and collectively bring in a massive pool of experience to The Pier School for advisory on good governance and effective education.
Funmi Akinwale
Funmi is the generalist that provides guidance to the team on holistic and excellent educational service delivery. Her passion is in the development of affordable and effective education systems in Nigeria and Africa. She is an education consultant and a school management and training execution expert with over 13 years of experience, serving as a consultant to several schools in Nigeria and to DFID for the in-service training of teachers. She has worked as a Project Coordinator for the German NGO, AFOS Foundation, and as the Head of Meadow Hall Consult, Nigeria. She has also worked with KPMG, Guaranty Trust Bank, Afribank Capital, and Collageo Communications. She is currently a school Director at Kazahchat School, Abuja. Funmi holds a postgraduate Diploma in Education from National Teachers’ Institute, a master’s degree in Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University, an MBA from Lagos Business School (Pan Atlantic University), and a B.Sc. in Economics from Babcock University, Nigeria.
Michael Ikueje
Michael brings a vast array of analytic insights on growth, business risks, and sustainability to the team. He is an astute investment banker whose expertise is in risk analysis, liquidity stress testing, and business sustainability. He has a wealth of experience garnered over 11 years of providing a wide range of financial services across the investment banking spectrum at Merrill Lynch, U.K., State Street Bank, U.K., Santander, U.K., and Santander Consumer, U.S.A. He is currently an Assistant Vice President, Stress testing Analytic at Bank OZK, USA. He holds a master’s degree in Finance and Investments from London South Bank University, U.K., and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
Olawale Olajide
Technology is transforming the world and changing our lives every day, but not all technology is educationally useful. Olawale guides and supports our engagement with technology for effective educational delivery and business improvement. He is a certified multi-cloud subject matter expert with a track record in helping organizations to digitally transform their processes and operations through cutting-edge technology. He has helped diverse organizations across Africa, operating in different verticals to design, build, secure, and manage deployed solutions in private and public cloud infrastructure. He is committed to seeing organizations experience exponential growth through the deployment of technology to reduce their total cost of operation (TCO) while increasing their returns on investment (ROI). He currently works at Reliance Info Systems, Nigeria, as the team lead of cloud and infrastructure services. He is a Microsoft Azure Certified Solutions Architect & DevOps Expert and a Microsoft Certified Security Engineer (MCT, MCP, MCTS, CCNSP, ICSI-CNSS, SCA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Atlantic International University, USA.
Olubunmi Afinowi
Dr Olubunmi offers the team professional advice on educational development and legal perspectives on educational management. She is a lawyer and academic with over 10 years of experience teaching Law at the University of Lagos. Having taught and researched family law for several years, she has become a passionate advocate for the rights of children. She also brings with her a wealth of experience in counselling students and young adults on various issues bordering around life and living. In addition to her professional experience, she has volunteered in various capacities as a peer educator on several projects, and as a children’s teacher. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B), from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, a master’s degree in Law (LL.M) from the University of Lagos and a PhD in Law from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
